"Aqua Rhapsody" Pendant by Sherris Cottier Shank
Description
This pendant, for which the aquamarine briolette was specifically carved, is titled Aqua Rhapsody. It was designed and hand woven in 950 platinum by Barbara Berk, of Barbara Berk Designs in Foster City California. Barbara weaves the platinum flat and then shapes the woven metal into the finished pendant. The pattern she uses is Soumak, an ancient rug-weaving technique named for the city (Shemakha) in Azerbaijan in which it originated. The pendant is 3-11/16 inches long and is currently available.
