Answers:
How to bookmark an article/page (Back to top)
Click on the "bookmark" button above the article or bookpage. A message will appear the page is bookmarked and added to your favorites. You can access bookmarked pages by clicking on the "my favorites" link in the right top.
How do I add to a "collection" (Back to top)
These can be found on any "product page": a page representing a work of art with description and details. Beneath the photo you find several buttons. One of them is a red heart with the word "add".
- Click on the "add" heart button
- Select a list from the "select collection" drop down menu
- click "save"
- click on "create a new list" if you want to add a new list
- type name of list
- click "save"
You added images can be found by clicking on "my favorites" in the top right of your page
Do I have to log in to add to "my collections"? (Back to top)
Yes you do. Your "collections" are personal and not accessible by anyone else. Therefore they cannot be stored in browser cookies. Furthermore you can login from anywhere you want and still have access to your "collections"
How do I create a new "collection" (Back to top)
There are two ways to do this:
You create a new list while adding a product to that new "collection":
Go to any "product page": a page representing a work of art with description and details. Beneath the photo you find several buttons. One of them is a red heart with the word "add".
- click on "create a new list" if you want to add a new list
- type name of list
- click "save"
You can create a new list beforehand:
- Click on the "my favorites" link in the top right corner
- Click on "more and edit collections" in the first box
- Click on "create collection" button: you can/need to fill in several fields:
- title (obligatory): the title occurs in your drop down menu and lists
- description (obligatory)
- keywords (tags)
- public or private: you can later post this on your profile
- embed code switched on: you can use the embed code to embed slideshow of your "collection" to post on blogs or social networks
- Click "save". You will automatically return to the "my collections" area. Your new "collection" is still empty but will be listed in the clickdown menu every time you want to add an item to "my collections".
I see some "collections" in "washed out grey" and cannot select them (Back to top)
Since you will not always remember which image is added to which list, we "black out" (red: make light grey) the lists you have already added the image to so you won't do it twice!
Can I add an item to multiple "collections"? (Back to top)
You can an image to as many lists as you like. Once added the list will be "blacked out" (read: made light grey), so you won't add it twice
Where do I find "my collections"? (Back to top)
- Click on "my favorites"
- Click on "More and edit my collection" in box 1
Can I give a "collection" a name? (Back to top)
Yes you can. You can create as many different "collections" as you like, give each of them a different name, and add any item to as many "collections" as you want. See: How do I create new "collections" for instructions.
What is a memorybox? (Back to top)
Whenever you do a catalog search and see images you like you can temporarily store them. So this is a quick way of remembering which images you liked without actually visiting the info-pages or without having to register/login to add them to some "collection" or "to-do" list.
You don't need to be logged in or register first to use the memorybox. You just move your cursor over the thumbnail and click on "add to memorybox". The image is then immediately added to the box in the left panel.
You can always leave Farlang.com, return later and still find your images in the "memory box" as long as:
- you use the same browser
- you do not delete cookies in this browser
Where do I find the memorybox? (Back to top)
You will only find the memory box on pages with thumbnails such as: catalog-search, pages with tags (images with a particular keywords) and others. The box is always named "memorybox".
Do I have to login to use the memorybox? (Back to top)
No, you do not have to login. Just click on "add to memorybox" and the image is added. View also: what is memorybox for more clarifications.
What is the "recently visited box" (Back to top)
Whenever you visit an info-page that will be "recorded" in the "recently visited" box. In this way, when you browse dozens of images, you can see which 20 images you visited before and immediately jump back to one of those if you wish.
You do not need to be logged in, registered etc. It automatically happens whenever you visit an info-page of a piece of jewelry, art object or gemstone.
Where do I find the recently visited items box? (Back to top)
You will find the "recently visited items" box on all info-pages of jewelry, gems, objects d'art, as well as on pages with thumbnails such as the catalog-search and pages with tagged images (images with a particular keyword)
Do I have to login to view my recently visited items? (Back to top)
No you do not. You do not need to be logged in, registered etc. It automatically happens whenever you visit an info-page of a piece of jewelry, art object or gemstone.
What is the difference between "recently visited" and "collection"s and memorybox ? (Back to top)
- Memorybox: images you have not looked at, but want to remember for later
- Recently visited items: The last 20 images you have visited the info-pages of
- "collection"s: lists you create, after logging in, and where you store images you like to remember, share or organize. It's your own image organization tool therefore
