Next to the " Great Mogul," the " Pear," was the largest diamond seen by Tavernier when he was perĀ­mitted to inspect Aurung-zeb's regalia. All he tells, us regarding it, is that it was of excellent form, pear-shaped, of fine water, and 62 1/2 ratis in weight. This would make it as nearly as possible 54 3/4 carats.
