A New Stone in the History of Diamonds—A Gift from the Archduchess of Hungary to her Daughter the Queen of Belgium.
HIS diamond which, through the kind­ness of Baron Solvyns, the Belgian Ambassador in London, comes to light now for the first time, is in the posses­sion of H.M. the Queen of the Belgians.* It weighs 50 carats. Her Majesty received it from her mother the Archduchess, wife of the Archduke Joseph, Palatine of Hungary, brother of the late Emperor of Austria.
