in the second.
Therapeutic Action: Ocular tonic; of use in chronic ulcers and as
poultice in sores.
L!sage: As dentifrice, as ointment in syphilis and sores (Dihli kay
Sahih Murakkabat; Qarabadin-e-Dhakai).
Hajar Yashb (Jasper)
Therapeutic Action: Stomachic, cardiac exhilarant; anodyne
Usage: Tonic for parturition and as exhilarant with other
ingredients (llaj al-Amrad), as calx (Miftah al-Khazain), and as theraic
Fadzahr Ma'dini (Mineral Bezoar)
Temperament: Hot in the first degree and unanimously held to be
dry in the second.
Therapeutic Action: Tonic for vital energy, organic and cardiac
tonic, resolvent for inflammations and anti-melancholic.
Usage: As pills serving as antidotaria and as a powder for piles
(llaj al-Amrad; Makhzaii al-Adawiyyah, Dihli kay Sahih Murakkabat;
Hajar al-Tays (Animal Bezoar)
'temperament: Hot in the last degree and dry in the third.
Therapeutic Action: Theriac, helps maintain mental equilibrium;
exhilarant and tonic for vital organs (Makhzan al-Adawiyyah).
Usage: As a tonic and antidotarium (Dihli kay Sahih Murakkabat;
Qarabadin-e- Kabir, Qarabadin-e-Dhakai).
