Silver foil (waraq nuqra, chctndi ke waraq) 32 grams
Triturated Bambusa arundinacea (banslochan saida) 25 grams
Triturated mineral bezoar (zehar mohra saida) 25 grams
Triturated pearls (marwarid saida)
25 grams
Triturated green agate (yashhab-i-saida) 25 grams
White sugar (shakar safaid)
8 kilograms
Sodium benzoate (nitrun banjawi)
4 grams
Citric acid (sat limun)

Preparation: The white sugar is heated in 2 litres of water to
boiling, filtered through a cloth and the citric acid added. When the
qiwam is ready, sodium benzoate, dissolved in a little water, is added to
the qiwam, and, on re-boiling, it is taken off the fire and stirred till it
whitens. Now the stones, bambusa, and mineral bezoar are added and
mixed well with the khamira, this addition being followed by that of
the silver foil. The khamira should be preserved in glass/chinaclay
container.
Dosage and administration: 5 g. each time in the morning and
evening.
Uses and indications: (i) Cardiac tonic and tranquillizer, (ii) Energy
preservative during smallpox, chicken-pox, typhoid and allied diseases.
(iii) Also tonic during convalescence-period.
