Piper nigrum (filfil-i-siyah)

Preparation: All the ingredients, sieved through 80-mesh, are made
into suftif, followed by the addition of the white sugar to the former,
drying in the sun after sifting through 16-mesh, and re-sieving through
20-mesh. The liquid paraffin and soapstone are now added to the
daiva from which tablets of size No. 4 are machined (each tablet=
575 nig.); these are stocked in glass jar.
Dosage and administration: 2 tablets after meals twice a day.
i'ses and indications: (i) Prescribed for liver ailments particularly
as antiphlogistic, (ii) Appetizing, (iii) Digestive and carminative.

Aqua Rosa damascena (arqgnlab)                                                75 ml.
Preparation: The dry ingredients are ground, sieved through 100-
mesh, and made into sufuj. The precious stones are finely ground,
mixed with the sufuj in small lots and the mixture triturated in a
mortar in aqua Rosa damascena. The saffron, triturated in aqua Rosa
damascena is added to the sufuj and precious stones mixture. The
silver foil, separately ground, is added to the above mixture. The
