KUSHTA ZEHAR MOHRA
Recipe
Mineral bezoar f:ehar mohra)                                                100 grams
Aqua Rosa damascena (arq gulab)                                             37 5 ml.
Cow-dung cakes (uplas)                                                        5 kilograms
Preparation: The mineral bezoar is ground and seived through a
fine cloth. It is triturated in the aqua Rosa damascena. When the aqua
has been consumed, 10 g. tablets are made and dried in a pyrex flask
or by gil hikiuat and warmed in 5 kg. of the dung cakes. When the fire
is burnt out. the knshta which is light whitish is taken out, sieved and
preserved in bottle.
Dosage and administration: 125 mg. or 2 tablets with 5g. ot
khamira tnarwarid.
i'ses and indications: (i) Refrigerant and anodyne, (ii) Relieves
palpitations of the heart.
KUSHTA SURB
Recipe
Lead (surb)                                                                               250 grams
Saltpetre fshora qalmi)                                                           500 grams
Bamboo reed (bans]                                                                        1 No.
Preparation: The lead is placed in an iron pan and heated. When it
melts, the saltpetre is added in pinches and stirred with the bamboo
reed. Any ash that appears is snuffed off by blowing. When all the
saltpetre has been consumed, the pan is taken off and contents arctriturated in a mortar containing water, and left dissolved in water.
The supernatant water is decanted off and washing is effected five times
till the affiliated nitre (shoriyat) disappears. The material, dried, is
sieved through a fine cloth. Whatever grains remain on the cloth are
removed, and the yellowish soil-coloured kuslita is stocked in bottle.
Dosage and administration: 6 mg. or one tablet with 10 g. of
inajnn arad khnrma or majun snpari oak, followed by 250 ml. of
milk.
i'ses and indications: Useful in spermatorrhoea, (ii) Makes seminal
fluid viscous.
