L'ses and indications: (\) Extremely effective against general debility
and reduced sexual activity, (ii) Useful in tuberculosis and phthisis.

Recipe
Pearls (marwarid)                                                                         6 grams
Hydrochloric acid (taizab namak)                                                1 5 ml.
Distilled water fab mnqattar)                                                     100 ml.
/'reparation: The pearls are finely triturated.        Next, the
hydrochloric acid is poured into a 250 nil. flask which is fitted with a
stop-cork. The pearls are gradually added to the acid with vigorous
shaking till the pearls dissolve out completely and the distilled water
is added. The marwarid sayyat is filtered and stocked in bottle.
Dosage and administration: 5 drops in the morning and evening,
mixed in 60 c.c. aquagaozabatt.
l'ses and indications: (i) Effective against typhoid fever, (ii) Cardiac
stimulant, (iii) General tonic.
MARHAMAIN (SALVES, OINTMENTS)

Recipe
Lead oxide (murdar sang)                                                         25 grams
Copper sulphate (nila thntlia)                                                   1 2 grams
Smilax china, finely ground Ichobchini batik pisi lini)          25 grains
Ricinus communis oil (rogltan erandij                            260 millilitres
Wax (mom)                                                                                25 grams
Preparation: The Ricinus communis oil and lead oxide are placed in
a pan and heated, when the oil blackens, the wax is added till it melts
and mixes with the oil. Heating is now discontinued and the copper
sulphate ground, is added during stirring. Last of all, finely ground
Smilax china, after sieving through 100-mesh, is added to the semi-hot
oil and preserved in glass jar after vigorous stirring.
Application: The wounds or boils are washed with a decoction of
Azadirachta indica and the salve (marham) is applied on a cloth
poultice.
