Preparation: The oil, wax and fat are placed in a pan and heated
till they mix. The pan is then removed from the fire and the remaining
ingredients are ground and sieved through 100-mesh, after which they
are added to the mixture. The marliam is stocked in glass jar.
Application: The fistulae are washed with warm water and a cotton
suppository containing the salve (rnarliam) is applied to the fistula or
boil.
