Rhus coriaria, are pulverized, sieved through 80-mesh, and made into
sufiif, after which Corallium rubrum and shadnaj are added. The Rhus
coriaria is boiled in one litre of water and, after the water is reduced to
one-fourth, it is rubbed with hands and the Cydonia vulgaris extract
and white sugar are added to it. When a proper qiwam forms, the
Sodium benzoate, dissolved in a little of aqua Onosma bracteatum, is
incorporated in it, and the qiwam is taken off the fire after one boil.
The sufiif is added to the qiwam gradually, and, when all of it mixes
with the latter, it is stocked in glass jar.
Dosage and administration: 5 g. with 250 ml. of milk before breakfast.
I'ses and indications: (i) Styptic, (ii) Useful in piles.

Trapa bispinosa, dried (singhara khushk)                              125 grams
Gossypium indicum kernel (maghz pumba dana)                100 grams
Pistacia lentiscus (mastagi Rumi)                                             25 grams
Ghee                                                                                              5 grams
White sugar syrup (qiwam shakar safaidj                              1 kilogram
+ 600 grams
Preparation: All the dry ingredients are ground, sieved through
80-mesh and made into sufuf. The cotton seed kernel is separately
ground, sieved through 40-mesh and incorporated into the sufuf,
followed by the incorporation of the kushta qal'ai. The qiwam of
white sugar is now warmed, and when hot, taken off the fire, and the
sufuf is gradually added during stirring. After the sufuf mixes with the
qiwam, mastagi, molten in the ghee, together with the silver foil, is
also incorporated while stirring. The ma'jun is stocked in glass jar.
Dosage and administration: 1 0 g. with 250 ml. of milk each day.
Uses and indications: (i) Curative for gonorrhoea, (ii) Useful in
spermatorrhoea, (iii) Increases the viscosity of seminal fluid.
