Aqua Onosma bracteatum (arq gaozaban)                        10 millilitres
Preparation: The first 3 ingredients are triturated in a mortar and
sitfuf (powder) obtained from them. The honey is heated to boiling
and any impurity that accumulates on the surface is scooped out. The
ambergris, after fine grinding, is incorporated into honey. When the
honey-ambergris mixture becomes like khamira and very viscous, it is
taken off the fire and pounded till it becomes brownish. The medicinal
sujuj is then added to the khamira gradually, followed by the addition
of the musk, dissolved in the aqua Onosma bracteatum, and the incorporation of the silver foil. The ma'jim is then preserved in glass jar.
Dosage and administration: 5 g. in the morning with 250 ml. of
milk.
Uses and indications: (i) Cephalic, (ii) Cardiac stimulant, fiii)
Exhilarant. (iv) Nervine, (v) Aphrodisiac.
