Aqua Onosma bracteatum (arq gaozaban) 60 millilitres
['reparation: The 28 herbal ingredients are made into sufuf after
being ground and sieved through 80-mesh. The camphor is first
triturated with a little sufuf and, afterwards, the whole of the sufuf to
which the minerals and stones are also added. The Bombyx mori is
boiled in 200 ml. of water till half the volume remains, after which, the
decoction is cooled down, rubbed with hands and filtered. The filtered
decoction is now added to the honey, and the latter is heated. When
the honey qiwain is about to form, the sodium benzoate, dissolved in
a little water, is added, followed by the addition of the ground
Ambergris. When the qiwaui is well set, it is removed from the fire and
the sufuf is gradually added with stirring. Finally, the Pistacia lentiscus
gum. molten in the ghee, and the musk and saffron, triturated in the
aqua Onosma bracteatum, are added, while stirring, followed by the
incorporation of the silver foils. The muff arch should be preserved in
glass jar.
Dosage and administration: 5 g. in the morning, followed by 250
ml. of milk or an appropriate aqua or sharbat.
Uses and indications: (i) General tonic, (ii) Cardiac stimulant.
