a grain of mustard-seed, nothing shall be impossible unto you." A
striking instance of such healing, and a fair example of our Lord's
utterances on this subject, stand recorded in Matthew ix. 28, 29, 30 :
" And when He was come into the house, the blind men came to Him ; and
Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this ? They said
unto Him, Yea, Lord. Then He ' touched ' their eyes, saying, According
to vour faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened." Again: "
And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve
years, came behind Him, and ' touched ' the hem of His garment. For,
she said within herself, If I may but ' touch ' His garment, I shall be
whole. But Jesus turned Him about; and when He saw her, He said,
Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the
woman was made whole from that hour."
Native
Gold always contains more or less silver; when the proportion reaches
twenty per cent, this is called " Electrum." In the Calcite of New
South Wales, finely-divided Gold is found, as " sponge-Gold " ; "
mustard-Gold " ; and " paint-Gold."
Amulets
of Gold were also highly esteemed of old. This precious metal was
thought to strengthen the heart, drive away melancholy, and other
bodily inÂfirmities. Silver was supposed to exercise similar
properties, but in a lesser degree. Amulet Rings were always worn on
the third finger, which was called the " medicine finger," because
through it the heart was held to be most susceptible to any such
