Cock, or Three Maidens, on Agate, renders the person acceptable unto all men, gives power over the spirits of the air, and is of potency in magic. 7. Lion, or Murilaga, on Garnet, gives riches and honour, cheers the heart, and drives away sorrow. 8. Stag, or Snake, on Onyx, gives the wearer courage, drives out devils, but likewise commands and convokes them, and binds noxious winds. 9. Man like a merchant carrying wares to sell, or Man seated under a centurion, engraved on Emerald, gives wealth and victory, and delivers from
