The total output of gold in the United States for the last 10 years has been $876,215,800. Of this production Colorado contributed $237,875,300; California, $184,141,000; Alaska, $144,257,000; Nevada, $90,552,900;_ and South Dakota, $64,649,200. The figures show a steadily increasing output for the country as a whole, although the output decreased in 1901, 1903, 1907, and 1910. A generally increasing output for the decade is shown for Alaska, California, and Nevada; a fairly stationary output for South Dakota; and a generally decreasing production for Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon. The comparison of the beginning with the ending of the decade shows how notable have been the increased output from Alaska and Nevada and the decreased output from Colorado.
