795
The first item consists of all classes of ores, tailings, and slags from which gold and silver was produced in 1915. The grand total is 48,514,980 short tons in 1915, against 40,679,262 tons in 1914. This takes no account of placer gravel but represents output of mines producing ore only. The greatest output was from Utah, Arizona, Montana, and Nevada, all notable for largo yield of copper ores.
