IMPORTS.
The
imports of platinum and allied metals for consumption in 1917,
exclusive of the 21,000 ounces of Russian platinum received in
December, which do not appear in the reports of the Bureau of Foreign
and Domestic Commerce for 1917, were about 57 per cent of the imports
in 1916 and about 25 per cent of the pre-war imports.
